Vision

The Dorset Marine Network (DMN) will ensure that marine and support businesses in the Dorset area covered by DMN are included and secure(s) a legacy from the vision of Marine Southwest so that by 2010, the Marine Industry in the South West will be regarded as the most competitive, innovative and coherent in Europe.

Overall Aim

To assist Dorset based businesses in maximizing the competitive advantage of the Marine Industry as part of the South West Economy. The driver for this will be to provide a focused platform for Dorset Marine and Associated businesses in the designated area to network in order to share information that will be of benefit.

By providing a platform for Dorset based marine and associated businesses, the Dorset Marine Network will generate a vibrant environment within which local marine business can flourish. It will achieve this by:

* collecting and promoting best practice;
* developing strategic links with other marine related networks and relevant professional bodies;
* acting as the conduit for the dissemination of important marine related news and information to the community;
* hosting events where members can become actively involved in the sharing of ideas and experiences;
* fostering collaborative partnerships;
* actively promoting the membership and the region through web site marketing, literature, the media, and at exhibitions and conferences;
* providing a clear and collective voice for relevant local issues;
* acting as a focal point for investment and funding initiatives.
